Lola | Good Eats

It’s turning into a small tradition. Celebrating my birthday at Tom Douglas’ Lola Seattle. Last year, I celebrated with a small group of girlfriends and family for dinner. This year, it was just Eugene and I for a super delicious breakfast.

Asparagus fontina scramble with smokey bacon and garlic smashed potatoes.

So good, but I couldn’t finish.

It seems like this little blog only gets some lovin’ around celebrations. That is something that I want to change. Life is so amazing and full of wonderful, crazy and beautiful things that really should be celebrated - in pictures and with words. Here’s to a new beginning, Cheers!

Bella+Ellie...

…the party.

When I found out that Ellie’s due date was very close to Bella’s birthday I was worried. I wanted both of the girls to have their own special day to call their own. They will share a room. Isabella will hand her small clothes down to Ellie. Is having your own birthday too much to ask? Countless prayers were said. And as usual, God answers them.

Ellie was born just 5 days before Bella’s 4th birthday!

Last year, the girls each got their own party. But this year, we decided to try a combined birthday.

Our two girls celebrated with different shades of yellow, white and gray - colors that remind us of summer and sunshine. We had a LOT of food to eat. Kahlua pig, Kalbi marinated tri-tip, Thai scented chicken, Pioneer Woman’s favorite salad and more. I wish I would have taken a couple of pictures. What I did get pictures of was my project for the party, their dessert table. A dessert table is something that I’ve really been wanting to do because it combines two of my favorite things - baking and making things pretty. Our guests were treated to Cheesecake cupcakes, cookie pops, triple coconut cream pies, macarons, white chocolate dipped strawberries, and pineapple lemongrass coolers.

Looking back, it was a great party! I can’t wait until next year!

… has the time gone? I last left you with a slightly sweet tease as to what has been happening at Casa de Victoria. It has been several months + several batches of sweetness later. In addition to an already thriving design career, very hectic taxi-mom service, we have decided to open up shop - cupcake shop that is!

Baking is something that I’ve always had a passion for, but with the support of my husband and our family and friends, we’ve decided to start selling our sweet baby cakes. And so Frosted was born.

We have been busy baking up yummy goodness for anniversaries, baby showers, baptisms, birthdays, and just because. Thank you to all of our sweet friends for all the love and support.
